Fabric Animal Sculptures by "mysouldesign"
Natalia Lubieniecka is Polish fabric artist living
and working for the last 10 years in Austria (Vienna). Her work consists of mysterious
owls, feathery spiders, embroidered birds, moths and other creatures most of
them with wings.
For the artist
sewing is a form of self-reflection and a way for the soul to go back to
childhood. As you can understand, her main inspiration comes from living nature,
birds, insects and other animals. Materials which she uses for her work
are antique fabrics, lace, buttons, old brooches and other jewelry.
Let’s see a selection of her unique work:
- Woodpecker, made of cotton, wire and thread. The whole bird is hand painted. The red mane and the vintage lace add character and uniqueness to the bird. Eyes are embroidered by hand.

Prusinowska is a conceptual designer and textile artist that transforms wool fibers into unique wearable art. After her studies in fashion design, felting became her passion and obsession. The peculiar fairy tale creatures by Wandmade
Paulina (Wandmade) is a textile artist, not a writer. However, she
has found her own way to create fantasy characters: she simply sews them. Her main
inspiration comes from all the stories and fairy tales that she has read in her
life and from nature. Apart from Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood
she loves stories about witches and wizards and probably in the near future she will become one of them.

Ukrainian designer that creates ethnic
hand embroidered jewelry and cross stitch accessories. The artist draws
inspiration from the national treasures of her country, the rich homemade
Ukranian fabrics and handmade embroidery. The
goal of the designer is to convert traditional embroidery, especially
Slavic-Ukrainian, into something modern and wearable.

Embroidered leather bags by Dior
One of the most timeless Dior bags is definitely "Lady Dior" bag. The iconic bag was created in 1994 in the Dior workshops. Its initial code name was "chouchou" or favorite. Two years later, it was baptised Lady Dior as a tribute to Princess Diana who fell in love with this unique accessory in a visit to Paris. Many Lady Dior bags are embroidered with flowers and beads.

3-dimensional structures by Pippa Andrews
Pippa Andrews uses textile techniques to make 3-dimensional structures derived from organic and architectural forms. Frames, bridges, shelters, building facades, free-standing structures and cityscapes are probably the main source of inspiration for her work.
- Hand printed fabric with channels sewn into it to hold painted wooden rods. The artwork was made it when the artist was researching ways to make a three dimensional forms that could be stored as a flat fabric. This is why this individual piece seems like a study on tents or ephemeral shelters.

John Robshaw is one of the most fascinating textile designers that uses excessively the "block printing" technique to make patterned fabrics. John Robshaw earned a fine arts degree at Pratt. Doodle stitching
A doodle is an unconscious drawing made while a person's attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes. Lately, a similar technique is used by embroiderers in order to create unexpected motifs and larger compositions, often using leftover threads and fabric scraps.

Burlap, it is also called hessian cloth or sack fabric, is an evenweave fabric with a rustic, warm and natural look. It is usually made from skin of the jute plant or sisal fibres and used to make sacks and bags.
Although, hessian has been historically produced as a coarse fabric, today it is also used as an eco-friendly material for bags, rugs, cushions, place mats, table runners and other products.
The texture, color and especially the contrast between the raw surface and the delicate embroidery are only some of the features that have inspired many contemporary embroiderers.

- Hand woven slip ons. The colourful textile was created by Guatemalan artisans using a hand-dyeing technique known as ikat. This traditional process creates a desired pattern on the yarn before it’s woven into fabric; the result produces a unique and colorful textile.
