Straight Satin stitch or Satin stitch or Damask stitch is a flat, filling stitch used to completely cover a section of the fabric.
Instructions:
1. To start, pass your needle through point (1) from back to front. The first point is typically the bottom left corner of the shape you want to fill.
2. Pass your needle back through point (2) from front to back in the top left corner of the shape.
3. Draw your needle at the bottom of the shape through point (3) from back to front, just to the right of the previous stitch and as close as possible.
4. Pass your needle back through point (4) from front to back, creating a second parallel stitch. Keep stitching parallel stitches. The goal is to fill the shape with no fabric showing in between.
